Pregnancy detection test strip for domestic use
The information, presented on this site is useful for women, but it may also be useful for their manly helpmates.
Conception and pregnancy are the issues of the highest importance in every human’s life. Are you going to become a mother or you are talking to yourself: “No, I’m not ready for this yet” – it is early pregnancy diagnostics that helps you to take the correct decision from the very beginning. Neither ultrasonography, nor gynecologist would show or tell whether you are pregnant or not on the first day after the menstruation delay. It is BONA that help you, when an answer is necessary right now, but not later on. Quickness, convenience and result reliability – the three BONA test strips’ main characteristics.
-
What is BONA pregnancy detection test strip and its principle of operation?
After fertilization, the female organism secretes the so-called pregnancy hormone (human chorionic gonadotropin). The quantity of hormone in the urine increases with every day of pregnancy. The BONA test strip is able to “detect” this hormone in the first day after the menstruation delay.
-
What differs the BONA test strip from other more expensive pregnancy detection tests?
The reason is that when you buy an expensive pregnancy detection test, you pay mostly for plastic chassis or cartridge, which contains the same test strip inside. A question arises: Do you need a piece of plastics or you need a reliable answer to your question?
-
What time of the day is the most suitable for testing?
The test may be done any time of the day. But taking into account the fact, that the concentration of a “pregnancy hormone” in urine is the highest in the morning. Thus, the morning test is strongly recommended.
-
What is the accurateness of result when using BONA test strip?
In case of correct testing, the accurateness of result is more than 99%.
-
What may influence the test result (alcohol, medicine etc.)?
In case of taking medicine, containing the “pregnancy hormone” (human chorionic gonadotropin), the test result may be faulty positive, i.e. it may show, that you are pregnant. In such a case, consult your doctor. Alcohol, anesthetics, oral contraceptives and antibiotics do not influence the test’s results.
-
If a slightly visible second strip appeared on the expiry of 10 minutes after the test, what shall it mean?
The test result is valid and must be evaluated during the period from 5 to 10 minutes from the moment of sinking a test strip into the container with urine. If a slightly visible second strip (so called test-strip) appeared on the expiry of 10 minutes after the test, this still means negative result of the test – i.e. you are not pregnant.
-
If a slightly visible second strip appeared on a test strip within the period of 5 – 10 minutes from the moment of the test beginning (sinking a strip into the container with urine) - what shall it meat?
The intensity of a second strip (test-strip) appearance depends on the “pregnancy” hormone concentration in urine. As the hormone concentration is low during the early pregnancy, the intensity of a second strip appearing may be not clear. But it indicates the presence of a hormone in urine; therefore, the test result is positive. In such a case, it is recommended to repeat the test the next day, because if you are pregnant, the “pregnancy” hormone concentration in your urine increases every day.
-
What if no strip appeared during the test?
The test was performed incorrectly. The reason of this may be, for example, insufficient amount of urine on an absorption field (the bottom of a test strip). It is necessary to repeat the test, using another test strip. Carefully read the manual on BONA pregnancy detection test strip.
-
If the two lines are visible – this means that the pregnancy hormone is present in the urine and the test result is positive, i.e. you are pregnant. No matter the accuracy of the test strip is more than 99%, we recommend consulting your gynecologist.
-
If you are waiting the beginning of menstruation and one control strip appears, it means that no pregnancy hormone was detected in urine and you are not pregnant. But it is recommended to repeat the test in 2 or 3 days, i.e. you may be wrong while the cycle calculating or the hormone concentration is low due to recent fertilization (less than a week). If the repeated test is negative, but there is still no menstruation – consult your gynecologist immediately.
-
When it is necessary to test in case of menstrual cycle disorder?
If you assume you became pregnant and you know, that you have menstrual cycle disorder, i.e. you cannot precisely define the cycle start day, it is recommended to conduct the test during the period from 15 to 20 calendar days after the possible conception.
-
Does a test strip diagnose ectopic pregnancy?
During an ordinary pregnancy as well as ectopic pregnancy, the female organism secretes the same hormone - human chorionic gonadotropin. The BONA test detects this hormone. So, we may say: “Yes, it does”. But the secretion of the hormone is not so intensive during ectopic pregnancy, as it is during a normal pregnancy, so the pregnancy would be detected not from the first day of a menstruation delay, but a bit later. If you suppose you are pregnant and repeated testing proves it – you should consult a gynecologist immediately.
