BONA-plan test strip

BONA-plan test strip

The BONA-plan test strip is fast and simple means for ovulation time determination at home as well as in laboratory. The test is applied for quality detection of a definite concentration of human luteinizing hormone (LH) in urine.

The test strip may help to define the two most suitable days for fertilization, following by the hormone release. The sexual intercourse during these days gives the best chances for pregnancy. During the test, the patient’s urine reacts with a coloured conjugate, being preliminary applied on the test strip and dried. Due to capillary effect, the mixture gets on a chromatographic membrane. The light coloured strip always appears in the control field. This control field serves as the basic colour brightness level that corresponds approximately with 30 mmol/l of LH.

If the test strip colour brightness is higher than the control strip brightness, the test result is positive and possibly, the LH release occurred (ovulation). And vice versa, if the test strip colour brightness is lower, then the control, or if the test strip is missing – no hormone release occurred.
